Umami Rate helps you search movies and TV shows and filter them by content ratings. This policy explains what we collect.
What we collect
- Search and browse requests you make in the app (queries, filters, and related metadata needed to return results).
- A random session identifier stored in your browser (localStorage) used for rate limiting and optional saved filters before you create an account.
- If you create an account: email and authentication credentials (handled by Convex Auth), plus saved filters and profiles you choose to store.
- If you upgrade: billing is processed by Polar; we store subscription status linked to your account. Waitlist emails are stored if you join before checkout is configured.
- Product analytics events (for example page views and feature use) via Vercel Analytics, plus standard hosting logs (Vercel and Convex) which may include IP address and timestamps.
What we do not do
- We do not require an account for core search and filtering.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use ads-based tracking pixels in the free product.
Third parties
Title data and images come from The Movie Database (TMDB). Hosting and backend services are provided by Vercel and Convex. Their privacy policies apply to data they process on our behalf.
