Family Prime Video: exclude R and TV-MA
Exclude R and TV-MA on Prime Video — a family-night ceiling without locking to kids-only.
Open this filter setPrime’s catalog is a mixed bag
Prime Video carries kids movies next to TV-MA originals and R-rated theatricals. Amazon’s kids profiles help at playback. They do not clean up a search you run before anyone sits down, and they do not travel when you are picking from a phone that is not on the kids profile.
This Umami Rate preset excludes R and TV-MA with the service locked to Prime Video. PG-13, TV-14, and kids ratings can still appear — the same rule as family night, scoped to one subscription.
What still gets through
TV-14 and PG-13 stay in the list. Tighten the chips if the room is younger: exclude TV-14, or switch to include Kids and PG only. Availability still depends on your Amazon region and add-on channels.
How to use it
Open the link, glance at the active chips, and search. Add a genre if you are hunting animation versus live-action. Copy the URL after you tweak it so the rest of the household sees the same ceiling.
FAQ
- Are Prime add-on channels included?
- We show titles TMDB lists on Prime Video. A channel you do not subscribe to may still appear as a provider — check the listing before you rent or add a channel.
- Is PG-13 excluded?
- No. This preset only drops R and TV-MA. Use the PG-13-and-under guide for a lower ceiling.
